Our company is seeking a Mobile Equipment Shop Mechanic to work at our American Aggregates of MI location in Oxford,MI. The Mobile Equipment Shop Mechanic will work in the shop performing all functions related to diagnosing and repairing heavy mobile equipment.
Pay: Max Pay is $35/HR
Shift: Monday -Friday, 6 AM - 4 PM, Possible Saturday (busy season)

Responsibilities
The Mobile Equipment Mechanic will:
Repair and maintain all mobile equipment
Rebuild mobile equipment machinery and components
Operate and inspect equipment to diagnose defects
Dismantle equipment, and machines to gain access to the problem area
Repair malfunctioning hydraulic components
Diagnose and correct electrical problems
Weld, cut, and fabricate all equipment and components
Change oil, etc. check and change batteries
Perform preventive maintenance
Make recommendations for equipment to be repaired by outside sources
Maintain record and reporting
Create work orders and procure parts via electronic procurement system
Perform computer diagnostics (Cat ET, Cummins, Insite, John Deere)
Performing other duties and projects as assigned by the Mobile Equipment Manager
Skills
The ideal candidate will have:
Ability to Lift up to 50 lbs.
High School diploma or equivalent
Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of off-road heavy equipment
Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, braking systems, electrical systems, drivelines
(including clutch, flywheel, transmission, differential), steering mechanisms, and suspensions
Ability to weld, cut and fabricate
Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, climb or crawl under or on top of equipment
Ability to manipulate components in hard-to-reach places with hands or tools
Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format individually and in group settings
Basic computer skills
Valid CDL license or the ability to obtain one
Willingness to perform other duties as assigned.
