Summary:
Performs needed repairs and prepare surfaces both inside and out for painting and refinishing. Finish wood based on project requirement.
Starting Pay is $20-23 based on experience
Schedule: 7am-330pm, some OT as needed

Job Description:
Apply paint, stain, varnish, enamel, and other finishes to wooden furniture and special cabinetry, using brushes, spray guns, or rollers.
Apply primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces, such as bare wood or metal, for finish coats.
Cover surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting.
Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives.
Read work orders or receive instructions from supervisors to determine work requirements.
Remove or prepare finishes by stripping, sanding, wire brushing, burning, or using water and/or abrasive blasting.
Smooth surfaces, using sandpaper, scrapers, brushes, steel wool, and/or sanding machines.
Wash and treat surfaces, or other preparations, and sand rough spots to ensure that finishes will adhere properly.
Spray or brush hot plastics or pitch onto surfaces.
Use special finishing techniques such as sponging, ragging, layering, or faux finishing.
Waterproof buildings, using water proffers and caulking.
Job Requirements:
At least 2-3 years of wood finishing experience
Experience in a woodshop or professional setting strongly preferred
Experience with stains, wood painting, and laminating a strong plus
