Teleoperation Vehicle Safety Driver (Part-Time) Location: Corktown, Detroit, MI
Are you interested in being part of the future of transportation? We're currently looking for a part-time a Safety Driver for our remotely driven vehicle in Detroit! In a collaboration between Sway Mobility and Mapless AI, Corktown Carshare will allow a carshare vehicle to be stationed at various locations throughout the week in Detroit’s Transportation Innovation Zone in Corktown. This will provide expanded access to those in need of vehicles.
This role is crucial for ensuring the safe operation of our remotely operated vehicles. The ideal candidate will be a vigilant, safety-minded individual with strong communication skills and an interest in cutting-edge, advanced vehicle technology.
As a Safety Driver, you will act as a co-pilot to the Remote Operator and be responsible for vehicle operation readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
● Monitor vehicle operations while the remote control system is engaged.
● Inform the Remote Operator in real-time of system behavior.
● Respond promptly to any issues, taking control of the vehicle when necessary to
maintain safety.
● Conduct daily maintenance checks and ensure the vehicle is charged and ready for
operation.
● Ensure vehicle interior cleanliness after daily operation and weekly car washing and
vacuuming
Qualifications:
● Must possess a valid driver’s license
● Must have a clean motor vehicle record for the past 5 years.
● Minimum 25 years of age.
● Available weekday morning and evenings 10 hours a week.
● Previous experience or knowledge of autonomous vehicles is highly advantageous.
● Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work well with others.
● Ability to maintain focus for long periods of time while testing.
● Strong commitment to safety and meticulous attention to detail.
