This role involves assessing college data issues, developing applications for streamlined access to student performance information across multiple campuses, and generating insightful reports on academic trends and outcomes. Because of this the position is located in East Lansing but occasional travel is expected between campuses. Evening or weekend hours may be required to meet project deadlines, proctor exams, and support college events. Key responsibilities include managing datasets for end-of-semester evaluations and residency matching reports, ensuring accurate data tracking and reporting for student affairs. In addition to data management, the specialist will create and analyze academic performance summary reports to provide insights that support curricular improvements. Responsibilities also include updating and maintaining class materials on the Just in Time Medicine (JIT) platform, compiling research data, and acting as a primary resource for faculty and staff regarding student performance analysis. The role involves proctoring examinations to ensure adherence to assessment protocols and providing training for faculty and staff on assessment methodologies tailored to the curriculum’s goals. Minimum RequirementsKnowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Business, Economics, Research Methodology, Statistics or Mathematics with relevant course work in computer programming; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in programming, statistical methods, data base management or data collection; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Desired QualificationsAn ideal candidate must demonstrate experience in database management and proficiency in computerized examination systems. Strong analytical skills are essential, enabling the interpretation of complex data and the generation of insightful reports.Candidates holding a master's degree, preferred. A successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills needed to effectively collaborate with faculty, staff, and administrators.
