Working/Functional TitleInst/Ast Prof - Fixed TermPosition SummaryThe Department of Teacher Education at Michigan State University is seeking outstanding candidates for anticipated fixed-term (non-tenure stream) faculty positions at the rank of Instructor and/or Assistant Professor in the elementary and secondary teacher preparation programs. These positions will be on a part-time to full-time basis (one-year appointment, with possibility of renewal). To be appointed at the rank/title of Instructor, a Master's degree in curriculum, instruction, or a relevant education field is required.
To be appointed at the rank/title of Assistant Professor, a Doctorate degree in curriculum, instruction, or a relevant education field is required.
Appropriate PK-12 teaching experience and relevant college-level teaching, specifically in elementary or secondary education.
Demonstrated commitment to social justice teacher education.
Demonstrated commitment to working as part of a team.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Desired Qualifications
Ph.D. and/or other terminal qualifying degree in a relevant field.
Appropriate PK-12 teaching experience and relevant college-level teaching, specifically in elementary or secondary education.
Experience working with teaching interns and PK-12 district partners and community organizations.
Experience guiding masters and doctoral students in curriculum and instruction in elementary and secondary teacher education.
