Tax Associate (Seasonal)

Position Summary:

Rhode & VanFleteren CPA’s is searching for a tax associate to join our fast-growing firm for the 2026 tax season. They will manage a variety of tax assignments and function with minimal supervision. Some job tasks at Rhode & VanFleteren CPA’s may be open to remote arrangements depending on business needs, however in office work is preferred to ensure the development and maintaining of client relationships.

Essential Job Functions:

Handle a range of tax filings across corporate, individual, and partnership entities at federal and state levels for small and medium-sized businesses

Prepare and file Tax Returns

Develop and maintain client base

Attend meetings and continuing education sessions

Collaborate closely with clients to gather information and ensure timely submissions, while maintaining clear communication within the team.

Comply with all industry rules and regulations

Represent clients in front of the IRS and state revenue departments

All other task assigned

Education/Knowledge & Skills:

Ability to effectively manage competing priorities, stringent deadlines, and multiple clients accurately and in a time-efficient manner with strong attention to detail

Strong sense of professional and personal accountability

Ability to effectively prioritize a fast-paced and varied workload, effectively manage a variety of concurrent and shifting priorities

Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Strong leadership qualities, work ethic and an entrepreneurial spirit

Experience with Thomson Reuters Accounting and Ultra Tax programs is a plus but not required

Develop, strengthen and grow client relationships through professionalism, responsiveness and service-oriented approach

Exhibit expert understanding of tax rules

Consistently demonstrate strong personal, technical and professional judgment

Ability to accept constructive feedback and make adjustments as directed

Available to work in office full time including evenings and weekends during tax season as needed

Other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications:

5 years of tax return preparation experience required

Ability to be successful in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment

Interest in current technology and market strategies

Attention to detail, ability to multitask, and being collaborative with your team.
