Position Description
As a bodywork-prep/painter you can expect to work as a team in the preparation and finishing of the trucks, tanks, and parts. The Clio location has a prep/finish bay and a down-draft paint booth. The Houghton Lake location has a separate building for vehicle/part prep and a paint booth. We are looking to add to our team of bodywork-prep/painters to keep the flow of orders moving.
Position Requirements
This first shift position (beginning at 6 am in Clio, 7 am in Houghton Lake) will be responsible for the following essential job functions:
Inspect areas to be painted for body repair, prepping, buffing defect etc.
Sand, mask, blend, polish, or touch up finish
Follow direction for specific color and application per customer
Able to work overtime as business needs dictate
Must wear respirator, which requires passing a confidential medical questionnaire and respiratory fit test
Qualifications
2 years truck, tank/vessel, or heavy equipment preparation and painting experience required
Physical ability to perform frequent use of arms (holding out and rotating repeatedly), legs, moving whole body for climbing ladders, lifting, balance, walking, stooping, crawling and handling of materials
Mechanical skills is a plus
Automotive or trade school certificate is a plus
Must be able to wear all personal protective equipment as required
Benefits
Starting base wage for a bodywork-prep/painter is between $20-22/per hour. This base pay rate may start higher depending on prior experience. We offer a comprehensive benefit package to include options for medical, dental, vision, FSA, life, short/long term disability, 401(k) with company match, legal and ID shield, pet insurance, and supplemental packages for critical illness, cancer, and accidents. Paid time off is available at 90 days; eligibility for holidays is immediate.
