The Kresge Cardiac Cath and EP lab is a fast paced, high-volume lab, performing nearly 11,000 procedures annually. The Kresge Cardiac Cath and EP lab at the Meijer Heart Center includes 5 Cath labs, 4 EP Labs and a 24-bed prep and recovery unit. Through research, innovative treatments, and best practices our teams are advancing heart and vascular care for the patients we are privileged to treat.Scope of workAssumes 24-hour accountability for leading, managing, supervising, and coordinating the operational and financial effectiveness of the department. Accountable for the development of policies and processes to continue to grow cardiac catheterization lab (CCL) services. Key responsibilities include department-based goal setting, program development, fiscal management, equipment acquisition, resource allocation, ensuring maintenance in the standards of care, promoting healthy vendor relations, and being a role model for interdisciplinary collaboration.Essential Functions
Assumes accountability for the provision of CCL services by ensuring the coordination of care, the availability of equipment/space, and the presence of qualified, specialty trained staff.
Responsible for the overall quality results of CCL services by establishing relevant quality metrics, communicating results, and setting goals/targets that ensures best practices.
Responsible for overall patient satisfaction with CCL services, ensures follow up with patient/family concerns/complaints, and develops actions plans to include patients/staff/physicians. Shares these action plans where appropriate to enhance services. Monitors ongoing progress towards the exceptional patient experience.
Manages the activities of professional and support employees who are engaged in patient care. Facilitates the training and continuing education of employees. Provides direction and support to subordinate employees to ensure effectiveness and efficiency. Selects, trains, develops, and evaluates subordinates and initiates personnel actions in accordance with departmental policies and organization philosophy.
Anticipates and develops policies and procedures associated with all aspects of CCL services.
Forecasts, develops, monitors, and analyzes the operational and capital budget plan for CCL services.
Develops business plans to support the dynamic needs of a growing and complex CCL service.
Leads change in a fast-paced and highly innovative service area.
Qualifications
Associate's degree in nursing (ADN) Required.
Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) Preferred.
3 years of relevant clinical experience (inpatient cardiovascular, cardiac ICU, procedural) Required.
Experience in cardiac catheterization Preferred.
2 years of relevant management/supervisory experience Required.
MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required.
