We are currently looking for an experienced Traffic / Transportation Design EIT who will best support our clients, co-workers, and Core Principles - “understand our customers and satisfy their needs, do what we say we are going to do, and Have Fun!”. Responsibilities: Assist in preparation of signal design and maintenance of traffic plans. Perform signal design plans to include: Traffic Signals, Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon, Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB), Pedestrian signals, Push buttons. Prepare plans for construction, including signal details, pavement markings, specifications and special provisions for construction. Develop Maintenance of Traffic Plans (MOT) for various design projects. Leading designated projects and reporting progress to senior staff Coordinate work with other engineers, CAD designers, and others who assist in specific assignments as needed. Attend field meetings with review agencies and clients. Occasional travel for field work is required; Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related degree required; 1 - 4 years of related experience required; FE/EIT or ability to obtain within 6 months Familiarity with Michigan (County, City, State) permitting; Detail oriented and self-starter; Ability to follow directions and work in a team environment; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Experience with AutoCAD and/or Microstation Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Prepare, review and implement traffic signal timing plans. Perform field review and validation of signal timing optimization. Develop new work opportunities and prepare proposals Prepare grant applications for communities to perform signal optimization. Serves as technical expert leading teams of engineers and technical staff Provide technical guidance to other departments and agencies Manage budgets, contracts, and other resources to achieve project goals Mentor and coach staff in developing traffic operations skills Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required, MS Preferred 5+ years of related experience required MI PE License required, or ability to obtain within 6 months. Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) preferred. Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, organization, and multi-tasking skills Excellent technical, written, and oral communication skills and familiarity of industry practices and regulations Ability to attend meetings; both daytime and nighttime meetings, some travel maybe required within Michigan and Indiana Strong working knowledge of Synchro/Sim Traffic required Familiarity or working knowledge of Rodel, AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, PTV Vissim, PTV Vistro, HCS a plus.
