Title: Journeyman Machine Repair Technician
Pay Rate: $34/hr
Hours: Monday – Friday 2pm - 10:30pm
Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Type: Temp to Hire

About the Role
What You’ll Be Doing:
Work under minimal supervision while performing repairs on equipment throughout the plant and other locations
Rebuild and maintain all plant manufacturing equipment
Perform troubleshooting and provide technical expertise as needed
When called upon, would assist in training/mentoring apprentices
Help by supplementing contracted labor and peers
About You
Required Qualifications:
Highschool diploma or equivalent
Must have satisfactorily completed a 4 year apprenticeship approved by the US Department of Labor
Ability to maintain and repair plant manufacturing equipment using blueprints and manufacturers specifications
Ability to setup and operate various precision fabrication parts machinery
Proficient in various types of welding such as TIG, MIG, ARC, etc
Ability to work in elevated and/or tight spaces
Proficiency in rigging and operation of heavy moving equipment
Have a high degree of mechanical ability and experience with fixing pneumatic and hydraulic equipment
Must be able to perform preventative maintenance on all plant equipment
Must know and follow all established safety protocols as well as working knowledge of OSHA and MIOSHA guidelines
Ability to lift heavy objects
Must be able to operate cranes and forklifts for moving heavy materials and/or equipment
