We have an opportunity for a motivated, engaged and detail-oriented crafts-person / maker. This is a job with a unique set of tasks that vary from day to day. We will completely train you for the specifics of our products from the ground-up. Our workshop is clean, bright, well-organized and safety-first.
We are a small, well-established local company making high-quality one-off products with a national customer-base. Most of our products are built, crated and shipped from our workshop. Occasionally jobs require us to travel for the likes of historic restorations, site visits and installations. Our shop is in quiet area near vicinity of 28th and Breton, so pretty centrally located with easy parking, food, shopping etc., close-by.
Hard-skills required:
- Shop carpentry
- Minor metal-working skills
- Basic wiring
- Painting (small projects, occasionally)
- Driving to fetch parts/supplies
- Driving to job-sites
- Occasional use of a boom or scissor lift on a job-site
- Not afraid of ladders or heights
Soft-skills required:
- Attention to detail
- Familiarity with common carpentry power tools
- Ability to read and interpret drawings for construction
- Effective communication skills
- Self-motivated with good time management
- Valid Drivers License; no DCL required
- Comfortable on ladders and working at moderate heights
- Ability to lift and move 75 lbs (sheets of ½” OSB)
- Ability to view micro and macro scope of projects
- Willingness to learn (we’ll teach you everything to know about tower clock systems)
- High school diploma or GED
- Higher education a plus
