Lakeshore Cutting Solutions (LCS) has an immediate need for a talented candidate to fulfill the position as the Laser Department's Lead position. Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of experience with Trumpf CO2 Lasers and possess many of the skills listed below. Scope of responsibilities: As the guiding member of the Laser Cutting Department this position is responsible for the overall efficiency and up-time for the laser department. This is to be achieved through the effective oversight and use of: a preventative maintenance program, effective administration of an escalation plan and equipment time tickets, trouble shooting, ordering parts and hands-on repair of laser cells, effective training of Operators and running cells when needed. To ensure the plants overall manufacturing needs are met, the position requires all “unscheduled” down time tasks to be performed at times that shall be negotiated with the company's Scheduler.

Excellent ability to trouble-shoot and repair Laser cells.

Ability to work independently without supervision and minimum directions.

Working on a daily basis as the guiding member of the Laser Department team to promote laser up-time and

efficiencies.

Excellent communication and teaching skills.

Availability to field calls and texts to service the needs of all shifts to ensure throughput, efficiency and limit down

time.

Excellent use of task management and planning tools.

Functional/Technical Skills -

Operates 3 axis laser.

Utilizes CNC controls, PLCs and edits code from the controller.

Utilizes offline programming PEPS.

Maintains Laser cutting heads.

Performs rebuilds of the head attachment hardware.

Cleans and rebuilds laser height capacitance sensor (ADC).

Accomplishes preventative maintenance.

Performs tape test/nozzle alignments.

Performs cleaning and replacement of focus lens.

Completes complex fixture set ups.

Understands complex schematics.

Troubleshoots and repairs electronic circuitry.

Maintains Lift Master & pallet changer.

Trouble shoots and repairs Lift Master & pallet changer.

Maintains Herding exhaust systems.

Trouble shoots and repairs Herding exhaust systems.

Maintains water chillers.

Trouble shoots and repairs water chillers.

Capable of developing functional cutting parameters throughout the range of the machine design.

Optimizes cutting parameters for RF CO2 lasers.

Performs maintenance of laser cells in accordance to manufacturers recommendations.

Cleans and polishes optics.

Performs mechanical alignments.

Performs optical alignments.

Working knowledge of a CO2 laser.

Proficient with measuring instruments.

Capable of controlling all processes in a manner that achieves scheduled performance & down time.

Verifies all decisions and actions for correctness.
