Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for an HR Generalist in the healthcare industry located in Kalamazoo, Michigan. As an HR Generalist, you will be instrumental in providing administrative support, managing recruitment processes, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our HR functions. This role is 100% onsite, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.Responsibilities Provide support to the HR Manager/Director, handling confidential administrative tasks and ensuring the maintenance of employee information. Guide and coach management team members on employee-related issues, including disciplinary actions. Play an active role in recruitment, posting jobs, reviewing resumes, and forwarding suitable candidates to the hiring supervisor. Conduct interviews and make permanent recommendations, often being the sole HR representative in the process. Carry out reference checks, employment verifications, and background checks on potential employees. Prepare offer letters and other correspondence as needed, extending job offers as requested. Coordinate and participate in new employee orientations, presenting an overview of benefits and other programs. Maintain accurate human resources files, employee files, and other clerical/administrative records. Assist in maintaining employee benefits information, ensuring necessary changes are made for employee enrollments and terminations. Conduct benefits enrollment sessions with new employees, updating benefit plans as necessary. Participate in detail-oriented development activities to stay current with HR trends, practices, and productivity tools. Collaborate with HR Manager on yearly Open Enrollment, updating benefit plan setup in HRIS as needed. Complete requests for garnishments, liens, child support orders, and medical support orders. Handle data entry of payroll-related documents, forwarding them to the Accounting Department for verification and processing.Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience in a HR Generalist role within the Healthcare, Hospitals, or Social Assistance industry Proficient in using ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now Experience with ATS - Asynchronous Transfer Mode is required Familiarity with Ceridian and Dayforce software is a must Strong understanding and execution of Benefit Functions Excellent Communication skills, both verbal and written Knowledge and adherence to Compliance regulations within the industry Proven ability in managing Employee Relations Experience with FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act) procedures and regulations Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
