Description We are inviting applications for the role of Medical Transcriptionist in our healthcare facility located in Kalamazoo, Michigan. As a Medical Transcriptionist, you will be tasked with the responsibility of accurately transcribing medical reports, ensuring proper documentation in the patient's medical records, and maintaining the confidentiality of all patient information. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity. 100% onsite, Monday 8am-7pm, Tuesday 8am-5pm, Wednesday 8am-12noon, Thursday, 8am-5pm, Friday 8am-5pm. Responsibilities: Transcribe medical reports, summaries, and other health information documents from recorded messages using the Epic EMR system. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records. Work closely with healthcare professionals to clarify diagnoses or to get additional information. Adhere to all confidentiality regulations and maintain the privacy of all patient data. Operate within clinic hours, potentially extending on certain days. Utilize various medical software such as 3M, Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, Eeg, EHR SYSTEM, and About Time for efficient transcription. Use medical terminology effectively and accurately in transcriptions. Convert voice-recorded reports as dictated by physicians or other healthcare professionals, into text format. Process post-medical notes from physicians and physician assistants after appointments. Manage the medical transcription workflow to ensure timely processing and completion of reports.Requirements At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Transcriptionist in a healthcare setting Proficiency in medical transcription software such as 3M, Allscripts, and Cerner Technologies Demonstrated experience with EEG and EHR System Familiarity with the software 'About Time' Ability to interpret and create Charts and Graphs Experience in Clinical Trial Operations Strict adherence to confidentiality protocols in handling patient information Excellent correspondence skills, both written and verbal High school diploma or equivalent; certification in medical transcription is a plus Strong attention to detail and accuracy in transcribing medical reports Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Excellent command of English language including medical terminology Good listening skills and a strong command of English grammar and punctuation Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Office tools.
