Description We are seeking a Tax Specialist in the Investment Management industry to join our team in Kalamazoo, Michigan. In this role, you will be providing support for tax information requests from clients and analyzing data for client reporting. You will also be part of a team that ensures the completion of tax deadlines and various monthly and ad-hoc projects requested by Tax Leadership.Responsibilities: Serve as a tax resource for clients and outside engaged CPAs Interact with outsourced managed service provider to ensure timely and accurate tax processing Analyze and verify tax data for client reporting Provide proactive updates on tax processing status Assist in handling required minimum distribution (RMD) questions and general tax inquiries Support in reviewing Form 1041 for trusts within expected parameters Assist the Estate Settlement Team in tax return review and processing Review the dissemination of various reporting and tax returns for mailing to clients and filing with the Internal Revenue Service and/or appropriate taxing authority Engage with the Internal Revenue Service and state taxing authorities as needed Track legislative changes in tax laws and regulations and communicate those changes to the team Present quarterly training to internal client-facing team members and assist in the development of Tax Coordinators Provide support for client gift processing. Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience in the investment management or related industry Proficiency in Estate Tax and Trust Tax Experience with Individual Retirement Account (IRA) regulations Familiarity with Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE software Strong understanding of Tax Accounting principles Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Experience with Accounting Software Systems Familiarity with Trust accounting proceduresRobert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
