Our goal is to build foundational technologies and enable customers to apply AI to solve their business problems with Oracle’s assistance and expertise in Generative AI. In this role, you will have an opportunity to work with teams of applied scientists and engineers to deliver high quality Generative AI models, solutions and services that delight our customers with the confidence that their data is safe and protected.Your OpportunityWe are seeking an exceptional applied scientist to work on innovative Generative AI & Agent modeling research and development efforts. As a Principal Applied Scientist in Generative AI and Agent Service team, you will be architecting, building and deploying cutting-edge, high-quality AI models and solutions at scale. You will work with a team of world-class scientists in exploring new frontiers of Generative AI and collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineers and product managers to deploy these globally for real-world enterprise use-cases at the largest scale. You will play a key role in shaping the future of Generative AI & Agents at Oracle and across the industry. Your contributions will be pivotal in delivering our new Generative AI-powered services for large-scale enterprise customers.Career Level - IC5ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities:

Research and Development: Conduct in-depth research on Generative AI, with a focus on Large Language Models (architecture, models, representation, evaluation, optimizations, planning, among others), and other emerging approaches.

Model Development: Design, develop, and train state-of-the-art generative models that meet the highest quality standards.

Team Leadership: TL and mentor junior scientists and engineers.

Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate Generative AI capabilities into various applications and products.

Innovation: Identify new opportunities for Generative AI & Agent and explore emerging technologies.

Stay Updated: Maintain a deep understanding of industry trends and advancements in this space.

Qualifications and Experience:

PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years relevant experience in Computer Science (focused on Machine Learning, Deep Learning) or related fields;

Strong publication record, including as a lead author, in top-tier journals or ML/NLP conferences.

Extensive experience in natural language processing, and deep learning

Proven track record of leading research and development projects

Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and architectures

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Strong leadership and communication abilities

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
