Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the Higher Education industry based in LANSING, Michigan. The position involves maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling bank statements, and overseeing accounts payable and receivable. Responsibilities: Manage and process Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) transactions efficiently Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial records Maintain and manage the General Ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and up-to-date Responsible for the preparation and posting of Journal Entries as part of the monthly close process Utilize QuickBooks for various accounting tasks and financial management Participate in Human Resources (HR) Administration tasks, including HR policy enforcement, recruiting, and onboarding Review and monitor customer accounts, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date Address and resolve customer inquiries related to their accounts Ensure all accounting practices align with the regulatory standards of the Higher Education industry Collaborate with other team members to achieve overall organizational goals.For immediate consideration, please contact Jennifer Willis at 517.619.1899 or email your resume to jennifer.willis@roberthalf.c0m.Requirements Possess knowledge and experience in Accounts Payable (AP) Familiar with Accounts Receivable (AR) operations Experience with Bank Reconciliations is necessary Proficiency in managing General Ledger Capable of preparing and recording Journal Entries Ability to handle Month End Close activities Proficiency in using QuickBooks software Experience in Human Resources (HR) Administration Knowledgeable about HR Policy Experience in Recruiting processes Familiarity with Onboarding procedures A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required Must have excellent organizational and time management skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary Ability to work independently and as part of a team Must have strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is required Must be able to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in business matters Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
