Maintenance Technician - Full-time or Flexible Hour Schedule
Red Cedar Flats is seeking an additional Maintenance Technician to manage and perform general maintenance, light renovations, and coordinate third-party contracting work. If you have experience in any of these areas, we would love to talk with you. We are also happy to train an applicant who has a desire to learn new trades on the job. Up to $20.00 per hour depending upon experience.

As a Maintenance Technician, you play a one of the most critical roles in the organization: ensuring community standards and interacting positively with residents when maintenance issues arise.
The Maintenance Technician position is a technical position, so the applicant must be organized and comfortable interacting with third-party contractors, other maintenance personnel, and residents. A friendly demeanor, an ability to lift over 50 lbs., a valid driver's license, and access to reliable transportation are prerequisites. Previous maintenance technicians were very successful in this role when they were responsive, interacted well with the residents, and accountable/autonomous.
Pay: Up to $20.00 per hour depending upon experience. Review given after 90 days of employment. Opportunity for managerial growth with our expanding operations. A company pickup truck is also available for on-duty hours.
Responsibilities:
Manage and assist with technical maintenance requests
Perform residential work orders daily, ensuring the highest standards are maintained for the resident’s home and community
Light snow removal for pedestrian safety, if necessary
Light landscaping to maintain curb appeal, if necessary
Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area
Provide regular recommendations for property needs, including but not limited to, capital replacements, deferred maintenance, system’s needs, and improvement to customer service related to the service department
Assist and complete new move in turnover to include painting, cleaning, and general maintenance
Demonstrate leadership in all interactions and in performance of essential job duties
Abide by all local, state, and federal Fair Housing guidelines
Maintain confidentiality of co-workers, management, owners, past and current residents, vendors, and all outside contacts
Perform on call as part of on call rotation and respond to maintenance emergencies, if necessary
Technical Qualifications:
Ability to diagnose basic HVAC, plumbing, and electrical issues (not necessarily fix, but understand and coordinate third-party contractors)
Ability to track supplies used and job hours per maintenance call
Ability to work professionally and cleanly in tenant-occupied residences
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with residents
Must be able to pass background check
