Department: Emergency RoomDaily Work Times:11:00am-11:30pm, Saturday, Sunday, MondayScheduled Bi-Weekly Hours:72Position Summary:The registered nurse is a professional nurse who coordinates the delivery of nursing care for monitored patients during their hospital stay including cardiac monitoring, hemodynamic stabilization, responsive to emergent situations and care of evidence-based medicine patients. The registered nurse ensures that quality nursing care is rendered to all patients in accordance with the Michigan Department of Public Health, the medical center and nursing department standards. Utilizing the nursing process, functions primarily in direct patient care. The registered nurse participates in maintaining a safe patient care environment, maintains patient privacy, dignity, confidentiality and respects patient’s rights.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Performs purposeful hourly rounding including: Pain, Position, Personal needs and Possessions
Applies the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and discharge needs of patient/family
Provides professional direct and indirect patient care in the emergency room setting
Performs triage duties as assigned
Administers medications to patients
Qualifications:Required:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Must possess valid State ofMichigan Nursing License
BLS Certified
ACLS certified within 3 months of hire
TNCC within 1 year of hire
ENPC within 18 months of hire
CPI within 1 year of hire
Possesses excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate and present self to patient, visitors, other staff and physicians verbally and in writing in courteous, confident and professional manner
Preferred:
Previous experience as RN in Emergency Department
CEN Certification
PALS Certification
BSN in Nursing
