Dart Container has an exciting opportunity for anentry levelAccounting Assistant, which will allow for an individual to join a global manufacturing company, setting the industry standard of excellence. Our Accounting Assistant will beresponsible for fixed asset and project accounting forvarious product lines manufactured at several Dart locations.Our successful candidate will bean analytical individual, who is self-motivated and thrives on attention to detail and accuracy. They will have the abilityto interact with several levels of management, at both the plant and corporate level.Day-to-Day Role:
Oversee compliance of one area of work within the Fixed Asset department to ensure adherence to standards
Maintain all project accounting for fixed asset and expense projects in a timely manner
Maintain all fixed asset records including running depreciation on a monthly basis and managing all changes to existing assets
Accurately prepare accounting related schedules such as journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules, including review and reclassification of expenses to assets
Assist in the timely month end and year end close activities in the area of fixed assets
Prepare and provide training to internal and external customers on project accounting and fixed assets
Create accurate and concise verbal and written communication to internal departments and external business partners about fixed asset accounting
Run reports, compile data, and work on projects as needed in fixed assets
Maintain secure control of accounting related documentation; invoices, checks, journal entries, financial statements
Maintain accurate job aides for all duties assignedCore Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:
Requires one of the following:
Associate's degree with an emphasis in accounting and one (1) year of accounting experience OR
High school diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of accounting experience OR
Equivalent combination of education and experience
Accounting experience to include journal entries, reconciling GL accounts, making month end adjusting entries, and preparing financial statements
Ability to demonstrate an understanding of accounting concepts
Microsoft Excel skills to include the ability to create spreadsheets (e.g., formulas such as V-lookups and pivot tables)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
Ability to effectively manage and execute multiple tasks, projects and priorities
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
