Position Summary:Cleans and maintains an assigned area of the Hospital in a sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Attends all meetings and training sessions as scheduled.
Selects cleaning materials and supplies and prepares solutions according to procedure. Loads service cart and transports to work area.
Cleans assigned areas by washing walls, doors, door frames, ceilings, ceiling vents, patient televisions, windows, water fountains, furniture, tile, fixtures and equipment with appropriate solution.
Sweeps and mop's floor areas, vacuums' carpets, spot cleans carpets, using appropriate solutions, and arranges furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion after cleaning assigned area.
Requests cleaning supplies and equipment as needed.
Operates various types of cleaning equipment both mechanical and electrical, i.e. wringers, vacuums, including wet/dry vacuums; or other equipment as assigned.
Cleans equipment and notifies manager of equipment needing repair.
Reports safety hazards to supervisor in timely manner.
May climb ladder to hang cubicle drapes, window drapes, blinds or reach high areas for other cleaning purposes.
May collect waste from all areas of Hospital, sanitizes all garbage cans.
Required:Preferred:
Six months housekeeping or maintenance experience.
High school diploma or GED.
