Description We are in search of a Payroll Manager to join our team in the automotive industry, based in NORTHVILLE, Michigan. The role involves managing the in-house payroll system, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws. It is an exciting opportunity that requires a high level of organization and detail orientation.Responsibilities include: Ensuring the smooth operation of the in-house payroll system and its compliance with federal and state laws. Collaborating with IT to modify and adapt programming and processing methods in response to changes in regulations, withholding rates, reporting needs, and changes within the company. Assisting in defining, analyzing, configuring, and testing different processes and application solutions to provide recommendations and alternatives to business issues. Collaborating with business resources to identify and develop process improvement initiatives. Maintaining payroll information by directing the collection, calculation, and entering of data. Preparing various reports for management on a periodic and ad hoc basis. Determining payroll liabilities by approving the calculation of employee federal and state income and social security taxes, and employer’s social security, unemployment, and payroll taxes. Setting up new employee information accounts and entering appropriate payroll elements. Balancing the payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies. Maintaining detail oriented and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing detail oriented publications, and participating in detail oriented societies. Managing year-end, quarterly, and monthly payroll processes to ensure the timely completion of all payroll tax reporting requirements and the issuance of W-2s. Skills: ADP Workforce Now, ADP - Payroll, SAP, Payroll - Union. Requirements Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Payroll Manager Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now and ADP - Payroll is required Must have experience with SAP software Experience with Payroll - Union is essential Excellent organizational and multitasking skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment Knowledge of payroll tax laws and regulations Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Certified Payroll detail oriented (CPP) certification is a plus Experience in the automotive industry is desirable Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
