Being part of the SDE Team you'll have the unique opportunity to help driving a number of strategic decisions from sourcing to manufacturing up to Start of Production. The opening is in Rivian HQ in Irvine California where the whole cross functional team resides, from Supply Chain to Engineering and Design.ResponsibilitiesUtilizing Rivian processes based on industry standards from VDA and AIAG, the Lead Supplier Development Engineer - Interiors will be responsible for managing the quality performance of our Interiors supply base - Perform new supplier assessments.Carry out supplier validation audits, with supplier support and supplier advanced product quality planning (APQP).Manage and lead development issues from containment to resultion adopting the 8D standardPerform supplier audit and Run@RatePerforms other duties as required or assigned within the scope of the position.Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirementsLead the supplier approval process by assessing manufacturing/technology capabilities and Health, Safety and Environmental risksSupport new product launches to ensure that supplier quality meets the required standardsFacilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions of supplier quality issuesPerform on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis and verification of correction actions of supplier quality issuesPromote the use of Rivian preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as Lean, Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), Measurement System Analysis, and ProcessQualificationsBachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or equivalent experience5+ years of Supplier development, supplier quality or equivalent experience4+ years of supporting seat's and interiorsStrong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), and Run at RatesAbility and willingness to travel internationally with no restrictions on locationDeep understanding of functional safety and cosmetic automotive requirements such as DVAC/AARDeep understanding of seat functional requirements and manufacturing best practicesPay DisclosureSalary Range for California Based Applicants: $135,000 - $155,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26.
