AWS Data Engineer

Description We are offering a long-term, part-time contract employment opportunity for an AWS Data Engineer in Southfield, Michigan. This role operates within the banking industry and requires a comprehensive knowledge of AWS infrastructure, data warehousing, data engineering tools and technologies. As an AWS Data Engineer, you will be tasked with managing AWS infrastructure, leading our data lake, data warehouse, and data mart initiatives, as well as working closely with internal teams to understand their needs and provide AWS and data engineering training and support to internal team members.Responsibilities: Implement and manage AWS services Monitor and troubleshoot AWS infrastructure issues to ensure optimal performance Design and implement ETL processes Manage change data integration workflows Lead data lake, oversee data mart governance to ensure data integrity and compliance Collaborate with internal teams to understand their needs and provide AWS and data engineering support Train and mentor internal staff on AWS and data engineering best practices Ensure best practices for security, resource management, and cost optimization in AWS infrastructure managementRequirements Minimum of 5 or more years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role. Proficient in Python and AWS Technologies including AWS IAM and AWS Lambda. Extensive experience with Apache Kafka, Apache Airflow, and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Knowledge of Cloud Technologies and Data Visualization techniques. Proven experience in Algorithm Implementation and API Development. Strong analytical skills and experience with Analytics and Data Integration. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
