Senior Account Manager - Medicare Advantage

Role Value PropositionThe Sr. Account Manager - Medicare Advantage is responsible for onboarding and ongoing management of their assigned relationships. This role requires knowledge and expertise with Medicare Advantage requirements as a delegated vendor while providing cross-functional support across MetLife stakeholders to ensure delivery on delegated vendor requirements. Strong dental and vision knowledge are preferred. Key Responsibilities

Accountable for the end-to-end account management experience of assigned relationship(s) as a Medicare Advantage delegated vendor

Provide functional and technical knowledge and oversight regarding Medicare Advantage requirements as a delegated vendor

Lead cross-functional internal meetings to ensure MetLife stakeholders have an understanding of objectives, expectations, timelines and deadlines

Lead, track and manage project plans to support delegated vendor requirements and ongoing relationship efforts

Effectively communicate internally and externally on a monthly basis, and/or as needed to support execution of program deliverables, including annual (and off-cycle) audits

Proactively identify opportunities to enhance efficiencies and program delivery

Understand the benefit offerings to provide enrollment material and client communications aligned with Medicare Advantage requirements

Develop strong internal relationships across Sales, Marketing, Underwriting, Billing, Eligibility, Claims, Customer Service, Legal and Compliance teams

Develop a strong understanding of Third-Party Administrators (TPAs) and brokers/consultants, including but not limited to, compliance requirements, operations, billing and fees, to drive strong relationships and support other TPA Relationship Managers as needed

Collaborate with the compliance team on creation and maintenance of Medicare Advantage policies and procedures.

Respond to customer needs proactively

Provide management with clear updates on issues and potential escalations

Flexible schedule, and able to work as needed outside of standard business hours; attend client and industry events to represent MetLife

Maintain up-to-date client databases, business plans and legal requirements

Expert in consultative support both internally and externally

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills Required:

5+ years of Medicare Advantage delegation oversight and/or compliance experience in meeting delegation oversight audit requirements

5+ years of Account Management experience in the insurance industry (i.e., commercial and/or Medicare Advantage carrier, Medicare Advantage delegated vendor

Strong interpersonal skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to present and speak in front of large audiences

Must be self-motivated, and work well independently and as part of a team

Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to problem-solve and prioritize numerous responsibilities at once

Ability to consistently meet tight deadlines and work under pressure

Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, MS Project)

Prior expertise in the Third-Party Administrators (TPA) space and/or insurance industry (sales, underwriting, carrier operations)

Understanding of employee benefits (worksite and voluntary)

Preferred:

5+ years of Dental insurance experience

Bachelor’s Degree

Project/program management experience at a carrier

Maintain awareness of the activities of all competitors. Assist with the identification and implementation of price increases for substandard accounts. Perform waste stream analysis to include estimation of volumes and recognition of waste streams requiring special handling or which can be recycled or diverted. Participate in business related meetings, conferences, social functions and civic organizations to boost the overall exposure of the Company. Court, cultivate, secure and act as liaison between large customers, municipal and governmental sector business including bid invitations and preliminary bid preparation. Assist in identifying acquisition candidates and participate in the acquisition of and merging with targeted businesses. Conform in all respects with applicable federal, state/provincial and local laws, regulations, ordinances and other orders and to all company policies, procedures and directives from supervisors.
