Summary/Objective
The Processor/Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all mold sets and production floor employees as well as product produced on their shift. He/she plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures, recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. He/She also manages real-time operations, maximizing resources (both human and automated) to achieve productivity, schedule adherence, customer satisfaction and financial objectives.
Essential Functions
Perform all necessary supervisory functions to effectively and efficiently manage the personnel assigned, according to procedures in system manual.
Organize the shift in a manner that will assure quality of parts, proper handling of raw material and finished goods, efficient timing of mold changes, color changes, material, personnel and equipment needs.
Report the production data for the shift accurately in the IQMS system, resolving count discrepancies to correctly reflect the product produced.
Maintain a better than average attendance record.
Accept responsibility for quality of finished goods, and for the completion of Quality Control functions according to the current Quality Control procedures.
Resolve employee issues as necessary.
Manage production schedule priorities and employee work schedule fluctuations.
Identify potential problems, troubleshoot, escalate issues to Manufacturing Manager and/or management, and participate in post-mortem analysis of problems providing input for future process improvements.
Foster a cooperative and harmonious working climate conducive to maximize employee morale and productivity.
Assign and help give breaks to Production Inspectors.
Assign tasks and mentor Assistant Supervisor if applicable.
Develop individuals for future advancement.
Keep Manufacturing Manager promptly informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and take prompt corrective action where necessary or suggest alternative course of action which may be taken.
Interact with Manufacturing Manager, Set-up/Utility, Quality Auditor, Production Inspector and incoming/outgoing shift staff as needed in a professional manner.
If a dispute or disagreement occurs that causes deviation from the smooth operation on the shift and/or acceptable production, you must notify management within 24 hours.
Know, understand and follow all procedures in the Quality System Manual that apply to this job.

Competencies
Machine/Plastic Processing; Start up/shut down Injection Molding machines, set molds when necessary, Make adjustments to machine when necessary to run acceptable parts, document all changes in Redbook, notify Quality Auditor that changes have been made, and verify that parts are still acceptable dimensionally as well as visually.
Drive Fork Truck
Responsibility; Properly start up/shut down production floor and building as required.
Communication; Communicate with Manufacturing Manager and Quality Department about conditions which might cause a deviation from smooth scheduled operations and quality parts.
o Must be able to read and understand: reports, work instructions, outside correspondence, gauges and color specifications/standards as well as deal effectively with deviations.
o Must be able to: speak, read, write and understand English and to utilize this skill to communicate effectively with customers, company management, supervisors and employees. Must be able to give and follow instructions effectively, communicating over the telephone, in person and in writing.
