Job Title: Program ManagerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Program Manager to oversee and guide a software engineering team through their development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will monitor progress, identify and troubleshoot issues, set up change requests, and capture and report status to the project lead. This role requires providing technical guidance, establishing software development plans, and ensuring all engineering activities are managed efficiently.Responsibilities
Monitor progress and determine needs for the program.
Lead a software engineering team through their engineering lifecycle.
Identify and troubleshoot issues within the engineering lifecycle.
Set up change requests and capture status reports for the project lead.
Understand and utilize branching techniques to drive development.
Provide technical guidance and direction for the software team.
Establish and maintain the Software Development Plan (SDP) and branch strategies.
Ensure all software engineering activities are carried out efficiently and effectively.
Develop resource estimates regarding manpower, schedule, cost, and scope.
Establish work assignments for individual engineers and collect completion statuses.
Manage software engineering execution throughout the project lifecycle using project metrics, risk management, structured decisions, and project status reports.
Coordinate with Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineers and Configuration Management (CM) Engineers.
Support Peer Reviews, Software Configuration Control Boards (SCCBs), and other project-related meetings.
Work with CM Engineers to develop build scripts, an independent build environment, and execute software builds with release notes.
Essential Skills
Technical leadership experience, including communication with engineering team leads.
Overall software development experience, including build and branching experience, understanding requirements, and scripting.
Experience with software processes such as configuration management, scheduling, estimates, and software architecture.
Proficiency in C, RTOS, embedded software, CAN bus, Linux, object-oriented programming, and Python.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Strong CMMI experience.
Work EnvironmentThe work environment includes a flexible schedule with no hard start/stop time, promoting a great work-life balance. The team is composed of 5-10 engineers reporting to a project lead. The role allows for remote work for the foreseeable future. Additionally, the position involves obtaining a Secret level Security clearance and working on cutting-edge military technologies.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $43.27 - $67.31/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
