Description We are in search of a Sr. Accountant consultant to join Robert Half's trusted manufacturing client in Troy, Michigan. The chosen candidate will play a pivotal role in our accounting department, with a focus on improving existing processes and ensuring accurate and efficient handling of our accounts. This long-term hybrid engagement will report directly to the Accounting Manager. The day-to-day responsibilities include: Implement new processes to enhance the efficiency of the accounting department Conduct thorough reviews of trial balances Handle account reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations Manage the month-end closing process and coordinate related activities Prepare and record journal entries, and handle accruals as required Work closely with other team members to identify and rectify any gaps in the accounting process Utilize SAP for various accounting tasks, ensuring its effective use Assist in cleaning up and streamlining the accounts payable process Provide clear instructions and training to team members to ensure accurate execution of tasks Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for various accounting tasks.Requirements The ideal candidate will have the following skill set: Proficiency in account reconciliation, with the ability to effectively manage and balance various accounts Familiarity with balance sheet reconciliation, capable of identifying and rectifying discrepancies Experience in handling bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations Expertise in maintaining and managing the general ledger, with a focus on accuracy and detail Ability to prepare and analyze journal entries, with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with skills in data analysis, pivot tables, and complex formulas Experience in month-end close procedures, ensuring all financial data is accurate and complete Experience with SAP accounting software, with the ability to leverage its tools for effective financial managementRobert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
