SummaryAbout the Position: This position is under the Solider Chem/Bio, Readiness and Sustainment Directorate, Chem/Bio PSID. The referral list(s) generated by this announcement may be used to fill future vacancies in other organizations throughout the Integrated Logistics Support Center (ILSC).ResponsibilitiesPlan and execute supply chain management and maintenance functions, such as program support requirements, distribution activities and procurement.Coordinates with representatives from DoD components concerning readiness issues and provide information or assistance.Demonstrate understanding of logistics processes, their functional inter-relationship and direct relationship to supply and maintenance Transition-to-Sustainment (T2S) and Sustainment support to effectively meet program and mission requirements.Establish supply chain management strategies and maintenance strategies to improve supply chain responsiveness and adapt to changing requirements.Takes appropriate action to optimize all supply based metrics.Provide quality information and service to units.Manages inventory to optimize material availability and weapon system/unit readiness.Analyze, prepare and presents supply, acquisition and maintenance based metric charts, reports, and Narratives.Responds to taskers/requests for information.Utilize Army and DoD databases to obtain logistics information or execute supply and maintenance transactions.Reviews directives and regulations to determine their application to current projects; initiates and/or participates in the development of procedures/policies for assigned items/processes.Reviews LCSPs.Participates as a Joint Independent Logistics Assessment (JILA) member as required by the JPEO-CBRND / JPMs.RequirementsConditions of EmploymentQualificationsWho May Apply: Only applicants who meet one of the employment authority categories below are eligible to apply for this job. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which includes: supply planning within automated logistics systems such as Logistics Modernization Program (LMP); performing oversight on assigned systems/projects; implementing new or improved practices to improved practices to improve customer service; and interpreting, understanding, applying logistics policy. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:Maintenance Planning and ManagementProduct Support ManagementSupply Support Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted.EducationAdditional InformationMale applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. Two year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. This is a Career Program (CP) 13 - Supply Management position. You may claim military spouse preference (MSP). Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Position is designated non-critical sensitive as defined in DoD 5200.2-R. This requires that a personnel security investigation be adjudicated on a pre-appointment basis which may take up to 90 days or longer to process. The selectee may be allowed to start work prior to adjudication if management approved. Obtaining and maintaining a secret security clearance is a condition of employment. If the security clearance is denied or revoked, the individual may be denied or removed from the position, accordingly. Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act Career Field Position. This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology Workforce position. Selectees must meet the position requirements for certification at Level 2 in Life Cycle Logistics within 24 months of entrance on duty. (Certification requirements may be found in the Defense Acquisition University Catalog at http://www.dau.mil/.) Due to the impact of the Coronavirus, individuals with entrance of duty dates prior to April 1, 2021 will have an additional 12 months to meet the certification requirements, up to a total of 36 months. Position may be filled as a temporary promotion, temporary reassignment, or temporary change to lower grade NTE 1 year by a current permanent Army Employee Temporary promotions, change to lower grade, or reassignments may be extended up to a maximum of five years, and may be made permanent without further competition. Position may be filled as a temporary appointment NTE 1 year, if the candidate is not a current permanent Army Employee. Temporary appointments may be extended up to a maximum of three years.
