Description We are on the lookout for a Controller to join our team based in WESTLAND, Michigan. The individual in this role will take charge of our financial operations, manage accounts, oversee payroll, and ensure compliance with various financial regulations. This role is pivotal in maintaining accurate financial records, managing foreign currency transactions, and facilitating the smooth operation of financial activities within our industry.Responsibilities: Oversee the management of both accounts payable and receivable, including foreign currency payments and receipts. Coordinate with outsourced payment processing for monthly payroll and HSA submissions. Ensure accurate and compliant processing of ACH and check payments to vendors. Invoice customers for shipped products and manage follow-ups on aged accounts receivable invoices. Execute monthly financial closing activities and prepare financial statements. Perform bank reconciliation for multiple accounts and reconcile balance sheet accounts. Prepare and file various tax returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax regulations. Participate in the annual budgeting process and manage annual insurance renewal applications. Prepare monthly recurring journal entries and calculate commissions and royalties. Collaborate with external tax professionals for estimates and tax return preparations. Requirements Must possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in a Controller role or similar capacity. Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in Full Cycle Accounting is essential. Proficiency in managing Sales Tax and Foreign Currency transactions is required. Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is mandatory. Proven ability to prepare and process Journal Entries is necessary. Experience in performing Month End Close processes is crucial. Familiarity with handling and managing Consolidations is required. Applicants must demonstrate a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality. Excellent organizational and time management skills are essential. Must possess strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and resolve complex problems. Proficiency in using financial software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required. Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; a Master's degree or professional certification is preferred. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to drive and influence team members.
