Come, be a part of our team and create Care Chemicals with us.As a Sr. Scientist I, you will work with BASF's comprehensive Care Chemicals portfolio to develop a variety of cleaning product formulations for home care, industrial & institutional applications, using standardized and internal test methods, as well as collect essential application data that is used by our commercial and technical service colleagues to promote BASF products and expertise to customers. Alongside a team of Chemists and Scientists, you will also use statistical tools such as JMP® and Excel® as well as design of experiments (DOE) techniques to plan, execute, and analyze test results.As a Senior Scientist I, you create chemistry by
Utilizing your strong scientific aptitude to independently execute projects and address in-depth technical challenges for industry and customer needs (e.g. cold water cleaning, concentrated formulations, bio-based formulas, etc.).
Utilizing your creative thinking to collaborate closely with commercial members of our team to develop new selling stories for our products.
Sharing your expertise in surfactants, colloids or interfacial science with other technical members of the team to aid in knowledge creation for the business, including drawing inspiration from patent and scientific literature.
Applying statistical tools and efficient test methods such as JMP® and design-of-experiments (DOE) to create predictive modeling and identify complex interactions between formulation ingredients.
Presenting your work to internal partners and external customers.
If you
Have a doctoral or Masters degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related fields.
Have preferably 3+ years of relevant work experience (i.e. surfactant science, colloidal systems, formulation, etc.), or at least 5 years’ experience in colloid and surfactant technical areas.
