Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Mailroom Assistant in the Financial Services industry, based in Apple Valley, Minnesota. As a Mailroom Assistant, you will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities, including handling and distributing mail, maintaining an organized mailroom, and ensuring timely delivery of packages and mail.Responsibilities: Efficiently sort and distribute incoming mail to the appropriate recipients within the organization. Ensure outgoing mail and packages are correctly labeled and dispatched in a timely manner. Manage the organization and cleanliness of the mailroom, ensuring a smooth workflow. Use the Mailroom software to track the receipt and delivery of important packages and documents. Handle the routing of incoming mail to the correct departments or individuals. Maintain accurate records of mail distribution and receipt for accountability and tracking purposes. Respond to inquiries about mail and package delivery within the organization. Assist in the procurement of mailroom supplies and equipment as necessary. Follow all organizational protocols for mail handling and distribution. Address any issues or delays in mail delivery promptly and professionally. Requirements Proficiency in mailroom operations and procedures. Ability to sort and distribute mail packages efficiently. Knowledge of routing incoming mail to the right departments or individuals. Experience in handling outgoing mail, including packaging, labeling, and dispatching. Familiarity with mailroom equipment such as postage meters, scales, and sorting machines. Strong organizational skills to maintain a tidy and efficient mailroom. Ability to stand, bend, and lift packages for extended periods. Good interpersonal skills to interact with staff and visitors in a professional manner. Basic computer skills for logging and tracking mail items. Ability to work independently and as a part of a team. High attention to detail and accuracy in sorting and distributing mail. Strong problem-solving skills to address issues related to mail delivery and distribution. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion. Willingness to adhere to all company policies and regulations.
