Outpatient Infusion: Providing professional nursing care for patients undergoing chemo and non-chemo infusions and injections. Maintains and provides care of ports and catheters used for infusions. Applies knowledge of current treatment modalities to patient care. Administers infusions/injections, testing and line insertions according to institutional policy, standards, and guidelines. Provides patients and families with emotional support, information and guidance during treatment. Educate patients and families in areas of health and illness that maintain optimum levels of physical and emotional functioning.
Outpatient Surgery: Delivery of quality surgical nursing care to the adult, adolescent, pediatric, and geriatric surgical patient utilizing the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). Comprehensive care of the surgical patient during the pre-op, intra-op and immediate postoperative course for the patient. Delegating care based on the abilities and limitations of care personnel and patient acuity. Providing surgical nursing support for a variety of surgical cases. Delivering care through the use of the nursing process.
Cardiac Rehabilitation: Providing group and/or individual education/training to cardiac and/or pulmonary patients (and family members) to enable them to bring their cardiac and/or pulmonary disease under control, avoid potential complications, and bring about lasting improvements in quality of life. The RN will assess patient needs and develop an individualized education plan of care to facilitate the development and application of needed skills to positively impact cardiac and/or pulmonary disease management. Supporting the medical provider in the provision of timely and efficient cardiac stress testing diagnostics in an environment that promotes patient safety.
Qualifications
Current licensure as Registered Nurse by the Minnesota State Board of Nursing
BLS, ACLS, will be acquired and maintained.
AORN Certification - can be completed within 6 months of hire.
Oncology Certified Nurse Certification from ONS - can be completed within 12 months of hire.
