MANY RIVERS MONTESSORI - DULUTH, MN

About Many Rivers Montessori

Many Rivers Montessori was founded in 2014 on Duluth’s hillside, and moved to the Woodland neighborhood in the fall of 2018. The school enrolls approximately 160 students from sixteen months through eighth grade. MRM is an inspired community of students, teachers and families coming together to grow generations of students who can change the world. The foundation of the school’s educational philosophy is the 100-year-old Montessori method.

About the Primary Assistant Teacher Position

The Children’s House Assistant works in a classroom of three through six year old students under the supervision of the Guide (lead teacher). A Children’s House classroom is a mixed-age environment of 20-27 children, with the oldest children completing their kindergarten year.

The specific tasks of an assistant vary with the age of the students, but common at all levels is the chief responsibility of maintaining the integrity of the Montessori learning environment. In addition to classroom roles - particularly for a “second assistant” - assistants may be involved in staffing the before and aftercare programs, lunch/recess, and the nap room as well as front desk coverage.
