Rudy’s Bar & Grill is seeking a dependable, experienced cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate can work independently, maintain consistent food quality, and handle a fast-paced environment during both lunch and dinner service.
Primary Responsibilities
Ordering & stock rotation
Prepare, cook, and plate menu items according to established recipes
Operate flat top, grill, fryer, and other kitchen equipment safely
Maintain a clean, organized workstation throughout service
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and handling procedures
Assist with daily prep, stocking, and inventory rotation
Communicate effectively with staff to ensure smooth service
Monitor food quality, portion control, and cooking times
Handle busy rush periods with accuracy and efficiency
Required Skills:
Previous line-cook or short-order cooking experience
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen
Strong knife skills and understanding of basic cooking techniques
Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and health/safety standards
Ability to lift 30–50 lbs and stand for long periods
Preferred Skills:
Experience with bar/restaurant food menus
Familiarity with inventory rotation and portion control
ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain)
Ability to assist with specials, prep lists, and kitchen organization
Experience training or mentoring other kitchen staff
