Position:

Clean Equitable Economy (CEE) Program Participant

Full-time position, 30-35 hrs/week

This is a temporary position which will run from January 2025 - March 2025. The goal of this program is to seek out individuals who have experienced barriers to employment, and to offer on-the-job training as well as credentials so that they may be able to successfully achieve gainful employment in the construction/weatherization field.

Program Information

Clean Equitable Economy is one of multiple workforce training programs offered by Community Action Duluth (CAD). It is an approximately 2-month paid training program, during which participants will learn entry-level clean energy skills through a mixture of in-field work and credentialed online training. Participants will also complete credentialed training while in the program, which will add to the participant's resume and make them highly competitive in this growing field.

Participants will also have access to CAD's Financial Opportunity Center (FOC) wrap-around services, including but not limited to: transportation assistance, financial coaching, GED/Adult Diploma assistance, benefits access, and assistance with resume building, employment services, and interview preparedness. All of CAD's services are free of charge.

Core Functions

The core tenants of the CEE Program Participant position are:

1. Job Duties

Energy auditing work, blower door testing, combustion analysis, assessing attics, basements, and crawlspaces, and using energy auditing modeling software.

Participants should expect to occasionally lift up to 50lbs solo, and be capable of frequent bending, stretching, and reaching to access attics/crawlspaces.

2. Education and Training

Assist in ensuring a safe and productive work environment by completing safety training, maintaining equipment, and following protocols as well as following steps to complete credentialed training.

3. Represent CEE and Community Action Duluth

Model the core qualities of a participant: Committed, safe, hardworking, enthusiastic and eager to learn, both in informal and formal public settings.

Success in the CEE Participant Position Looks Like:

· Demonstrating a commitment to service and our mission in everything you do.

· Prioritizing attendance, punctuality, and maintaining a positive attitude.

· Being eager to learn new skills, motivated to pursue a career in the construction/weatherization field, and getting along well in a group setting.

· Placing safety at the center of all decisions and actions.

· Openly communicating success and challenges with the CEE Program Manager.

Working Conditions

This position is full-time, non-exempt with working hours between 8am-4:00pm, Monday-Thursday, and 8am-12pm Friday. This position pays $17.00/hr and is eligible for: PTO, holiday pay. CAD has a Benefits Outreach Specialist onsite to assist uninsured participants with navigating health insurance.
