The Duluth Bethel is seeking a Maintenance/Janitor for our non-profit residential treatment and correctional facility. Must be willing to consent to a background check, and, if chemically dependent, be free from problematic substance abuse for at least one year.

Essential Functions:

Inspect grounds weekly, more often if necessary, for cleanliness and needed repairs.

Perform electrical, plumbing and routine maintenance repairs as needed, using appropriate hand and power tools.

Perform housekeeping duties: wash walls & windows, wash & wax floors, shampoo carpets, etc. using appropriate equipment, including power mower and snow blower.

Perform general pick up and delivery.

Assist in routine maintenance of vehicles.

Must be physically able to stretch, walk, stoop, reach, use ladders, and carry up to 50 pounds in performance of job duties.

Purchase and maintain adequate supplies and equipment for the Bethel's maintenance needs, upon authorization of supervisor.

Attend required training.

Be available to work extended hours.

Provide occasional on-call back-up for the Building and Grounds Supervisor.

Perform other duties consistent with job description as assigned by supervisor.

Other requirements:

Three years experience in maintenance, grounds, and housekeeping.

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Second class boiler's license preferred.

Must hold a valid driver's license and current vehicle insurance.

Must have a high degree of honesty, integrity, and empathy in relationships with others.

Must have the ability to establish and maintain professional boundaries, respect confidentiality, and act as a role model for others.
