BUILD TEAM FABRICATOR: SKILLED CARPENTER
POSITION OVERVIEW
Our build team of skilled craftspeople are constructing and installing saunas for clients throughout North America. Cedar & Stone has a commitment to its team members. Additionally, our team is committed to multiple forms of innovative, environmentally friendly, green building techniques including construction using mass timber.
The Skilled Carpenter position is responsible for efficiency of sauna builds. Beginning from shop drawings, they must be able to understand, communicate, and guide others in the entire process of building a sauna. While the Skilled Carpenter may not be leading the team, they will be asked to train others. They are dedicated to working in environment of safety and learning, while cultivating a commitment to quality. The Skilled Carpenter is also responsible to follow Cedar & Stone’s procedures, including completing quality control checks at each phase. The Skilled Carpenter plays a key role ensuring clear and timely communication and build completion, and must be a team player.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Extensive experience working alone and on a team
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
Maintain positive attitude
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High degree of attention to detail and organizational skills
Computer skills (Google Workspace, QuickBooks Time, Email, etc.)
Minimum construction experience 2-4 years - including but not limited to: Framing, interior and
exterior finishing, flashing detail, metal roofing/siding, electrical, and decking
SHOP FABRICATION
Proficiency in fabrication of saunas and sauna accessories in accordance with all shop protocols and quality standards
Requires some to no guidance on shop building techniques/protocols
Contribute to regular shop cleaning, organization, and maintenance
Proficiency in reading and building off of shop blue prints
Participate in regular build team meetings and project overview meetings
Follow all shop safety policies and attend safety meetings
Complete Build Phase Checklists
Work under Lead Carpenter to complete builds/projects
Work with your team to meet required build timelines/efficiency goals
Welding experience preferred
INSTALLATIONS & MAINTENANCE
Deliver, install, and perform maintenance on saunas and other sauna products
Safely load and unload products and materials on and off company vehicles
REPORTING
This position reports to the Build Director
When working offsite on installations, this position reports to the Installation Team Lead
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This role is a full-time position, located in Duluth, Minnesota with occasional travel. This role is paid at an hourly rate of $24.05. Given that this position includes shop and on-site labor, some overtime is expected, though it must be approved by the Build Director. Overtime will be paid in accordance with the FLSA at 1.5x over 40 hours. This role will include 20 days of PTO, which includes vacation and sick time. This role includes health, dental, and vision insurance for the employee and dependents. This role includes 401K with profit sharing. Accommodations and per diem will be provided on all offsite projects that require overnight stays.
