Collaborates with Region operations management and local maintenance management teams to capture ROI, create CapEx Plans and equipment forecasts improve customer service, reduce maintenance cost while increase equipment up time. Continues to improve and revamp standard operating procedures and best practices for all UNFI Refrigeration Systems. Ensure the Computerized Maintenance Management System is accurate and up to date to provide insight into facilities refrigeration operations and where opportunities for improvement exist. Job Responsibilities:

Create, support and implement strategies to establish and improve Process Safety Management Program (PSM) and Synthetic Refrigerant Compliance
Identify and cascade standards, processes, and best practices, providing guidance and oversight to align with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and the company's risk tolerance
Establish, develop, and communicate PSM systems and metrics for Operations in collaboration with the UNFI Safety team. Identifies trends to rationalize the allocation of appropriate resources to areas where the risk is highest
Support various Process Safety Management projects across Operations, monitoring performance and resolution against large/complex open projects, risk mitigation efforts and audits
Drive continuous improvement in process safety management across UNFI by staying up to date on emerging technologies, industry advancements, and regulations
Develop and deploy onboarding and training on process safety principles, practices, and responsibilities for team members involved in processes related to facilities management
Direct and support Facility Managers responsible for managing all aspects of PSM Synthetic Refrigerant Compliance for all UNFI applicable locations
Responsible for determining the applicability of current and pending rule changes related to PSM and ammonia refrigeration systems
Direct Facility Managers to ensure contractors working on ammonia systems are certified and properly trained for the tasks to be performed
Lead safety activities related to PSM and ammonia refrigeration
Train applicable personnel in PSM, if needed
Function as a key member between Operations, Food Safety, EHS and Facilities to address identified risks pertaining to Food Safety due to Refrigeration issues
Function as the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) Administrator for the Refrigeration Inspection, Testing and Maintenance Program
Maintain common naming standards and abbreviations for facility equipment and systems including parts inventory
Develop and maintain refrigeration equipment downtime tracking and PM effectiveness to show cost benefit analysis
Job Requirements:
Education:
5-8 years of Ammonia Refrigeration PSM management responsibilities or equivalent combination of education and/or experience, required.
Experience:
Previous Anhydrous Ammonia Refrigeration experience required
Prior experience in food manufacturing with exposure to USDA/FDA regulations strongly recommended
Prior experience in food manufacturing with exposure to HACCP strongly recommended.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations with emphasis on PSM
Extensive knowledge of Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) methodologies, e.g HAZOP, What If
The ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and collaborate with cross-functional teams to reach joint decisions, identify and resolve problems
Positive, proactive, self-directed approach
Effective anticipation and analysis of root causes
Ability to anticipate needs, forecast conditions, set goals/standards and measure results
Good organizational skills and the ability to manage several projects simultaneously

Pay Range: $90300.00 - $169100.00 Annually ($43.41 - $81.30 Hourly)

Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
