Business Analyst
Remote or MN/CT
Description:
PROJECT: Project M365 Value Realization is a large-scale project within Client that will be focused on enhancing our end user support capabilities by leveraging modern endpoint management products. As part of the project, we will be migrating our endpoint protection, software deployment, and security patching capabilities to newer technologies over the next 2 years.
LOCATION: Expecting this person to be remote but having them in the MN or CT area where they could eventually come in would be preferred but not required.
IDEAL BACKGROUND: Experience in technology support analyst / business analysis role in large organizations, major software systems implementation experience, ability to analyze and document process flows, technical and business requirements,
TOP REQUIREMENTS:
Analyzes technical/business needs, documents requirements and translates needs into functional, non-functional and/or technical specifications
Delivers requirements, performs analysis, and evaluates downstream business, systems, process, and/or organizational impacts
Plans and assists with oversight of testing processes and activities including defect identification and resolution
Analyzes charts and/or diagrams of the problem to be programmed and defines system requirements in terms of system capabilities
What experience will set candidates apart from one another? A preferred candidate will have extensive experience working in a large enterprise. Candidate will have extensive experiences working with Microsoft systems management products.
Open to candidates that cannot convert to FTE upon conversion.
TEAM STRUCTURE: 1-2 managers, 1 pm, 10-15 technical resources with mix of Optum staff from multiple teams and contract resources.
INTERVIEW PROCESS:
a. How many rounds? 1-2
b. Video vs. phone? Likely phone with video if warranted
c. How technical will the interviews be? The interview will be focused on prior experience in a BA role supporting IT technical projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyzes business needs, documents requirements and translates needs into functional, non-functional and/or technical specifications
Delivers requirements, performs analysis, and evaluates downstream business, systems, process, and/or organizational impacts
Plans and assists with oversight of testing processes and activities including defect identification and resolution
Analyzes charts and/or diagrams of the problem to be programmed and defines system requirements in terms of system capabilities
Develops or assists in the development of work plans, time schedules, and project task items and schedules and assists with estimating resource needs for analysts, programmers, user personnel, consultants, equipment, and prepares routine project status reports
Assists in the development of project cost and benefit estimates to establish project worth including the development of alternative considerations. This will result in recommendations for the installation of new systems or equipment, or to change existing systems and equipment
Advises the appropriate people on the implications of existing IT systems that can be applied to a problem. Identifies risks and issues, and seeks approval on complex matters
Checks, instructs, assigns work, and otherwise functionally directs technical staff in order to achieve desired end-results on complex problems
Provides onsite (at the practice) training and support as necessary during an integration
Provides subject matter expert and operational support to internal business partners
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
Strong understanding of the Project Management Life Cycle
Ability to analyze and document process and data flow
Ability to clearly communicate ideas and solutions
EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
5+ of experience in developing requirements and performing system analysis (examples - utilizing use cases and stories development for articulating business requirements)
3+ years of experience of major software systems implementation experience
5+ years of experience as part of projects from requirements gathering and analysis, through deployment and testing through to transition and training.
Proven success supporting technology/business change in small, mid-size and large organizations
What are the work hours? (ex. 9am-5pm, day/night shifts, rotating shifts, etc) 8am-5pm
