Description We are seeking a Controller to join our team in the healthcare and social assistance industry located in Edina, Minnesota. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing financial statement preparation, managing complex accounting functions, and maintaining an effective internal control environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a finance professional to contribute to our team.Responsibilities: Supervise all financial reporting functions, including monthly general ledger close and financial statement preparation. Manage complex accounting functional areas related to insurance, investment, and advisory services. Maintain and improve analytical review of financial results and develop key financial performance metrics. Update and maintain a Policy and Procedures manual to ensure an effective internal control environment. Manage annual audit process and act as the primary point of contact. Lead and develop the accounting staff. Conduct research on new accounting pronouncements. Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments on financial matters. Oversee GAAP and Statutory financial statement preparation, internal control environment, regulatory filings, and other daily financial reporting activities. Utilize leadership skills to ensure efficient functioning of the accounting department. Requirements Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role within the Healthcare, Hospitals, or Social Assistance industry. Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP and GAAP - STAT principles. Proficiency in Accounting Functions and Auditing. Experience with Budget Processes, including Budgeting and Forecasting. Ability to handle Month End Close processes. Proven track record in Financial Reporting. Strong leadership skills with an ability to motivate and guide a team. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Relevant professional certifications such as CPA or CMA will be advantageous. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in using accounting software and other business intelligence tools. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively. High level of integrity and professional ethics.
