DescriptionPosition Summary:The purpose of the role is to build profitable sales of the 8 th Avenue Foods and Provisions (8AFP) product portfolio to other customers. This position will have responsibility for the management and performance of our private brand business for specific accounts. The qualified candidate will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to grow the top line and bottom-line growth for the 8 th Ave. product segments.Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage day to day operations of the sales function at all assigned accounts.
Achieve assigned top line volume and profit goals.
Proactively identify and analyze market opportunities/issues and develop an effective action plan to address.
Successfully sell-in new product offerings and company initiatives.
Development and accountability of recommended promotional plans and execution.
Anticipate problems and take quick action to resolve.
Utilize market research data to identify opportunities.
Effectively manage broker teams to ensure goals are achieved.
Penetrate critical decision-makers to understand account goals/strategies and collaborate to build their business.
Ability to forecast existing and new business.
Effectively lead internal, cross-functional customer teams.
Proactively manage up via recommendations to improve business procedures, etc.
Demonstrate a positive professional attitude with the company and account personnel.
Management of trade funds (accrual management) and T&E expenses within assigned budgets to ensure spending target is maintained.
Work collaboratively with Sr. Business Director and the marketing team to develop cohesive sales strategies that maximize business opportunities.
Track customer service issues and coordinate resolution with the appropriate individuals.
Manage the deduction process to maintain a ledger balance below target.
Understand and utilize customer P&L data effectively.
Manage OGSM’s for territory.
Education and Experience Required :
Bachelors’ degree required, business-related degree preferred
Minimum of 5 years’ sales experience with consumer-packaged-goods categories
Excellent selling and presentation skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong time management, planning, and prioritization skills
Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
Ability to multi-task
Ability to work independently
Demonstrate success by driving new distribution.
Demonstrate success with internal team/customer negotiation.
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:
5+ years of sales experience with private brand food or other consumer packaged goods categories.
Recent experience selling major customers, buying groups, brokers, and distributors in the Grocery industry a plus.
Experience selling food products preferred.
Experience with scheduling travel through Concur preferred as the position is subject to extensive overnight travel, including some weekend travel for meetings, trade shows, and conventions.
