As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a crucial role in conducting various tests and experiments to ensure the quality and safety of our consumer products. This is a full-time, in-person position, at the 3M Center. As a Laboratory Technician you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Perform a wide range of laboratory tests and experiments on consumer products, following established protocols and procedures.
Collect, analyze, and interpret data accurately and efficiently.
Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
Prepare samples and reagents for testing, adhering to strict safety guidelines.
Document and report test results, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during testing.
Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in laboratory techniques and technologies.
Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
High School diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a laboratory setting in a private, public, government, or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Associate's degree or higher in a relevant scientific field (e.g., chemistry, biology, or related).
Experience working in a consumer product lab or related industry.
Familiarity with quality control and assurance processes.
Experience with testing, collecting data, reporting and communicating data
Knowledge of statistical analysis software.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong understanding of laboratory safety protocols and procedures.
Proficient in using laboratory equipment and instruments.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
