Medical Billing Specialist

Description We are seeking a Medical Billing Specialist to join our team located in Mendota Heights, Minnesota. This role plays a crucial part in our healthcare team, focusing on maintaining billing records, managing insurance claims, and negotiating repayments. This opportunity offers a short term contract.Responsibilities: Review and calculate patient charges, verifying payments based on treatment records Prepare comprehensive billing reports and invoices. Process insurance claims and payments in compliance with relevant laws and medical coding procedures. Set up patient payment plans and manage collection accounts. Monitor and rectify billing/payment discrepancies. Update and maintain billing software with rate changes. Ensure accuracy and completeness of all patient records. Attend educational seminars to enhance knowledge and performance level. Perform data entry and adopt paperless billing methods whenever possible. Handle additional duties as assigned, such as tracking overtime hours and verifying time cards.MendotaRequirements Proficiency in Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE), EHR SYSTEM, and Epaces is essential. Demonstrable experience with Accounts Receivable (AR), Appeals, Benefit Functions, and Billing Functions. Experience with Claim Administration is required. Excellent numerical Data Entry skills are necessary. The ability to handle Direct Phone Calls professionally and efficiently. Prior experience in Medical Billing is a must. The candidate should be comfortable with and adept at using various medical billing technologies and software. The ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Good communication skills, both written and verbal. A high level of discretion to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis. High level of proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word. The ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workloads. A commitment to continuous professional development.
