We are looking for a live-in caregiver to support our 22-year-old son in his new home. Our son, JJ, has a dual diagnosis of Down Syndrome and Autism. We would like to add to his team of dedicated caregivers supporting him by adding this unique opportunity for a mature, responsible person (or couple) to provide respite care and overnight supervision.
This full time position consists of 30-40 hours per week of awake care (paid at $18/hr) plus 4 asleep overnights each week. JJ sleeps well at night- caregiver needs to be home to listen for him on a baby monitor.
Caregiver Position Responsibilities:
Satisfactorily complete all required initial orientation and training specific to JJ
Maintain health and safety at all times including; giving medication correctly, maintaining close supervision both at home and in the community
Assist with personal cares including: dressing, toileting, personal hygiene, meal preparation, etc.
Monitor JJ (via a baby monitor) and wake up to provide care as needed during the night
Care for JJ once he wakes in the morning until scheduled staff arrives
Qualifications:
Able to pass a comprehensive background check which includes a review of driving record as well as drug testing
Single adults or married couples only. No children or pets.
Responsible and tidy.
Able to commit to 2 years of employment
Compensation:
Free rent in beautiful home. Private bedroom, bathroom, living area, and sauna. Shared kitchen, backyard (including heated pool), additional living spaces, and garage.
Free utilities (electricity, water, internet, etc.)
$18/hr for caregiving when JJ is awake
$300 monthly health insurance stipend
7 Paid Holidays (or double time if you choose to work)
3 weeks PTO (Vacation and Sick Time)
