We’re seeking a Director of Accounting to help drive our accounting and finance transformation. As a Director of Accounting, you will be leading and managing the accounting team in our Minneapolis, Minnesota office. Working closely with the Assistant Corporate Controller in Fairfax, Virginia. You will be responsible for accounting operations, taking a leading role on anticipated system conversions and be expected to partner across the organization leading a matrixed team.What you will be doing:
Actively lead efforts to continue maturing the organization, systems and processes so that they scale both efficiently and effectively, while ensuring that appropriate controls are operating effectively
Oversee the accounting organization in Minneapolis
Ensure the timely and accurate monthly accounting close
Drive efforts to appropriately educate personnel with regard to accounting pronouncements as well as company accounting policies and procedures
Work closely with the Finance team to continuously drive process improvement and collaborative review of results
Navigating change while keeping the team motivated and accountable for work
Partnering closely with all levels of Leadership to support and grow the business and ensure that best Accounting principles are followed; while simultaneously reinforcing and instilling the defined Values of ICF’s finance department
Work to support and mentor through transformation of systems and reporting
What you will need:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
CPA
3+ years of experience leading an Accounting department for a mid-sized company
10+ years of direct staff management experience
Proven ability to effectively lead matrixed teams
Experience with accounting systems (e.g. SAP, Deltek Cost point, Microsoft Dynamics…etc)
Experience working within a publicly traded company
Excellent writing and presentation/communication skills
Superb analytical and qualitative strategic thinking capabilities and outstanding influencing and collaboration skills
