With over 240 schools nationwide, our access to resources, development, and professional connections in best in class.The district is willing to work with applicants whose licenses are in process OR request an out-of-field permission license is needed.Position OverviewThe School Psychologist is a licensed professional who works within a school setting to assess, evaluate, and address students' academic, behavioral, and mental health needs by collaborating with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop interventions and support plans, ultimately aiming to improve student learning and well-being.Primary ResponsibilitiesConduct comprehensive psycho-educational assessmentsAdminister tests and rating scales as per evaluation planConduct systematic observations and structured interviewsInterpret evaluation results, verbally and in writingFacilitate team meetings to discuss results, determine eligibility, and identify student needsIntegrate team's evaluation findings in a comprehensive evaluation report that meets legal and professional standardsDevelop, implement, and evaluate academic and behavioral interventions for studentsDemonstrate and educate staff on understanding of disabilities and the ways they may impact education - per Minnesota criteriaAssist school staff with child-find activities, e.g., building pre-referral and referral process, early childhood screening, district assessments, and other agency referralsLead staff in developing, implementing, and evaluating functional behavioral assessments, transition plans, behavior and academic interventions, etc.Consult with teachers regarding FBA Procedures, review, and as necessary conduct FBAS on students with high behaviorParticipate in data collection activities necessary to develop, implement, and evaluate interventions and progressProvide district leadership and facilitation for building student support teamAssist teams with developing proactive processes and problem solving with knowledge in district resources and curriculumPlan and provide trainings as neededProvide a broad range of professional services to students, staff, families and the communityActively engage, collaborate, and consult with students, families, and community-based service providers in promoting school success for students, developing intervention strategies to assist with programming for studentsWork with students in crisis to help learn calming techniques, enabling students to problem solve on their own without assistance in conjunction with the School Social WorkerImplement federal and state rules and laws according to district policies and proceduresImplement and maintain a record keeping system that results in district compliance with federal and state regulationsKeep current in the profession through professional reading, continuing education, and ongoing collaboration with colleaguesOther duties as assigned
