Overview:

As the Pet segment for General Mills, Blue Buffalo's ambitious growth objectives are connected to an equally ambitious technology and innovation roadmap. If you want to play a key role in the delivery of this roadmap, we have an immediate need for a proven technical architect professional with strong experience in architecting data and application integration solutions, and deep knowledge and experience in common system integration methods and technologies.

This Solutions Architect will be a critical role in the Sales & Trade Capabilities Product Team of General Mill's D&T (Digital and Technology) organization and will act as an advisor to leadership to develop overall integration architecture strategy and vision for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple business units. This role will partner closely with the platform teams to ensure a performant and resilient integration architecture. Additionally, the Solutions Architect will work closely with Product Owners to determine their goals and outcomes, eliciting and analyzing requirements and creating tech strategy and architecture to enable both current as well as future needs.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Collaboratively develop technology & capability roadmaps for the Pet Sales & Trade space.
  • Ensure technical components of Pet's Sales & Trade initiatives are on track
  • Provide leadership and accountability for the delivery of the technical components of a solution
  • Match solutions with the requirements of stakeholders and the enterprise standards
  • Ensure solution compliance with non-functional requirements (Security, Platform, Integration, Data, Operations, etc.)
  • Lead Technical RFP & Prototyping
  • Provide Consulting & Mentoring to developers & analysts
  • Leads the development of Pet's Sales & Trade high level systems architecture.
  • Create Pet Sates & Trade systems roadmaps - Technical, Sustainability, Support, etc.
  • AS REQUESTED: Cross-train to allow workload balance across the team

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree required; Computer Science, MIS, or Engineering preferred.
  • 5 years of IT Architecture experience.
  • Hands-on experience designing and deploying enterprise solutions.
  • Proven ability to work with cross functional and global teams.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn and apply new capabilities in partnership with other Architects.
  • Strong relationship management and leadership skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to research, plan, organize, lead, and implement new business solutions.
  • Comfort with informing, influencing, and presenting to leadership.
  • High initiative; self-starter with a learning mindset and eye towards continuous improvement
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, follow-up and ensure execution of multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • A strong sense of accountability, ownership and pride in work performed

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Software & Data Engineering experience
  • Experience with agile techniques and methods
  • Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, Cloud and Cyber Security
  • Familiarity with Data & Analytics concepts and tools
  • Familiarity with modern Application Architecture Principles
  • Familiarity with Modern Systems Integration Methodologies
  • If based in the Wilton office, must be comfortable working in an environment with free roaming pets
  • Travel Required: 10%; to HQ (Minneapolis) based on the business needs e.g., critical in-person workshops.

  • We are open to 100% remote candidates with occasional travel based on business needs.
  • International relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.


Salary Range


The salary range for this position is $103600.00 - $172900.00 / Annually.
