Looking for a responsible individual that has experience with PCA/ CNA / GERIATRIC Care.
LIVE IN Caregiving is the position to live in a private apartment above a 92 year old male.
Cares would be to work in and around his 20 plus hours he currently recieves from the VA.
Expectations are to make sure he is dressed in clean clothes daily . Laying out his clothes and depends and prompting him To change his depends 1-2 times daily. He is independent. But needs guidance with hygiene and clean bedding.
Making sure his meals on wheels is warmed and heated 3x a day. Or preparing food on hand. VA PCA will be responsible for much of this.
You would provide weekly grocery shopping for meals that are not included in the prepared Meala on wheels. He has a good budget. Your good is not included in position.
Some Light housekeeping. His VA workers will be responsible for much of this.
Checking in on him and spending at least 6-8 hours daily in and out of his living space below the private apartment that is above him.
Taking him out of the house 1-3 times a week for socialization and eating out.
He has an allowance.
He is very oriented to place and time and things, with the exception of some confusion in the evening / night ( occasional sundowners).
It would be expected to monitor him with a camera upstairs if he gets disorientated during the night . Making sure he is safe.
Rent will be provided for you in the one bedroom, full kitchen , spacious Living room & bathroom ABOVE his house. There is a private staircase to apartment and another staircase that connects to his two bedroom living quarters below.
A well behaved dog is acceptable if you are responsible for cleaning up after dog and caring for the pet. My father loves dogs.
We Prefer a single, responsible adult with high integrity, compassion for the elderly, and experience with geriatrics
Wages are also included with the free rent on a month to month basis with a signed lease that states such. Wages will be negotiable.
One weekend a month will be given off - and off times in between his 20 + hours a week he receives from VA. He also receives two days of adult day stay a week and respite one day every two weeks. So you would be free to have a life also In Between cares he already receives.
The ride to and from adult stay would be expected if you were hired as his caregiver.
A background check and a credit check will be required of all applicants
My father lives in a very nice neighbor behind the Riverview Theater in South Mpls.
