ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION:
The PROP Shop of Eden Prairie is a nonprofit organization serving low-income families with clothing, household goods, and furniture. We collect in-kind donations from the community, provide free basic needs to local families, and also operate a resale store. The PROP Shop has a small staff and over 100 volunteers a week to help with its operations and is seeking a new member of its team to help it grow.
Wage Category: $18-$20/hour, non-exempt, temporary 90 day-to-hire, 6-8 hours/week
JOB TITLE: Saturday Donations Intake Coordinator
We need your energy and reliability to meet the needs of donors and a growing organization. You will assist staff with the facility needs of the organization and will help donors with their items as they learn about The PROP Shop. Your great customer service skills will assist donors as they drop off items, and then you will move donations along their processing journey. You will be on your feet and unloading donations from cars, so being able to consistently lift heavy boxes and bags is a must. We are looking for a self-starter who is willing to work hard with a great team.
Major Job Responsibilities:
Accept donations from community members, provide tax receipts
Greet and thank donors
Assist with lifting, loading, and unloading of donations
Assist with the processing and sorting of donations
Separate donations by type as needed
Identify and properly dispose of garbage
Process recyclable materials as appropriate
Keep donation area clean and orderly
Assist with facility and equipment maintenance
Job Specifications and Qualifications
1. Ability to be on feet up to 8 hours a day and to lift repetitively.
2. Some furniture and other heavy lifting. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
3. Ability to problem-solve and maintain composure in a stressful environment.
4. Strong customer relations and communication skills.
5. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
6. Positive attitude.
7. Saturday schedule availability. Hours needed: 9:30am-3:30pm Saturdays.
